Americans have long embraced the challenge of securing our nation against our enemies, and we remain dedicated to delivering a safe and secure America to future generations. The threat we face today is unlike any in our history and cannot be overstated. Failure is not an option. Radical Jihadists are devoted to eradicating free societies and replacing them with an archaic and dangerous theocratic rule under strict Sha’ria law.
Because America’s love for freedom and innate idealism go counter to this strict, extremist ideology, we are the primary target for Radical Jihadists’ violent actions. We understand that an adaptive military and intelligence community is necessary to aggressively engage these extremists abroad in order to succeed in preserving our American way of life at home. Reagan 21 understands that this is a global “war” and that Iraq and Afghanistan are central fronts in the conflict.
For 50 years, during the Cold War, we had a defined strategy against a nuclear Soviet Union, and were ultimately triumphant. Filling the vacuum of evil created by the defeat of Soviet totalitarianism, however, are not other nation states, but rather rogue radical Islamists intent on imposing their Sha’ria law in which religious power is inseparable from political, military and state power.
Recognizing that they cannot match America’s military power through traditional military means, this enemy has posed an asymmetrical attack characterized by indiscriminate ruthless, usually unpredictable acts of destruction. These people who have vowed to spread this archaic Muslim theocracy are murderers and thugs who wear no uniform and will stop at nothing to create their desired reality.
On September 11, 2001 we were given a glimpse of the chaos and death they hope to deliver onto Americans unwilling to submit to their ideology. But these cold-blooded terrorists do not rely solely on large-scale attacks. They are willing to detonate bombs strapped to the undercarriage of cars and the chests of their children in order to deliver their message and defeat our will.
We refuse to see the American people live under the fear that when our children go to the mall they may encounter a suicide bomber. The Sha’ria law that these jihadists are violently spreading manifests itself into a society where women are accorded no rights and must conceal themselves under a burqa, alleged criminals are not afforded the presumption of innocence but are beheaded, and where wars are ultimately conducted to force conversion to Islam.
Al-Qaeda and terrorist-sponsoring, rogue regimes such as Iran and Syria will continue to try to destroy our way of life with individual acts of terrorism, all while seeking nuclear and biological weapons that can kill Americans en masse.
We are waging the first battles in a war against American freedom and idealism that may last for decades. Although the enemy is new and their tactics have changed, we understand that America must remain militarily strong and diplomatically engaged to once again prevail.
